Why are mattress sizes different in each country?

Mattress sizes aren’t the same everywhere - New Zealand has its own standard sizes, while many overseas brands (especially from China or Europe) follow different measurements. That’s why it’s always worth checking.

Why does Urban Sales offer both NZ and global sizes?

We bring in furniture from around the world, which means some bed frames are made for global-size mattresses. To make sure you’ve got options that fit, we stock both NZ and global mattress sizes.

What’s the actual difference between NZ and global sizes?

It’s usually just a few centimetres, but it matters. For example, an NZ Queen is 153 × 203 cm, while a Global Queen is 150 × 200 cm-small gaps that can affect the fit.

Can I put a NZ mattress on a global-size frame?

Usually not. NZ mattresses tend to be a bit bigger, so they may not fit properly inside a smaller global-size frame. It’s best to match standards.

What’s the difference between NZ Queen and Global Queen?

What size is a NZ King Single?

NZ King Single is 107 × 203 cm-great for solo sleepers who want more space than a standard single.

What’s a NZ Long Single?

NZ Long Single is 91 × 203 cm-same width as a single, just longer. Ideal for taller sleepers or split-king setups.

What’s a Global Short Queen?

Global Short Queen measures 150 × 190 cm-often used in compact or imported frames. Shorter than a standard Queen but still roomy.

Aren’t Global and NZ Singles the same?

They’re close, but not identical. Global Single is 90 × 200 cm, while NZ Single is 91 × 188 cm-those centimetres do matter.

Will my current mattress fit a new bed frame?

Are your mattresses NZ or Global sized?
